Happy Christmas!

Happy Christmas One and All!
Last night I opened a gift that was sent from a dear friend and I got ELF SHOES! YIPPEE!

We haven't had much snow here. It has mainly been very cold and very icy which hasn't been fun at all. So, I am wishing I was back here. This is a photo from when I lived in Greece. This was taken on a gorgeous beach in Crete. I could cry!

Thanks divaforever-great to see you hear! Wow-you lived in Greece too! Do you have family there? I used to live in Kolanowki-it is in Athens-a little pocket town on top of a mountain but I traveled so much. I miss it all the time!

Hi Merle,
I have no family there unfortunately. I know the place you use to live! When did you live over there? We lived there from 1980-1982. (gee I am old!)and I went to school at the Hellenic International School. We traveled all over Europe including Italy, UK and France. I miss it too!! Can't wait til the dollar is stronger because I am def. going to Milan as soon as it is!

Christine,
I don't have family there either. I am not Greek(Irish, English, Russian), but I loved all things Greek. I went there through my university and had to learn to speak Greek before and took Greek while there. I went to "College Year In Athens" from 91-92(gee, I'm old!) and then traveled all over Italy after(love that too!). I went back to just Santorini when I was in my late 20s-it was great, but also sad as I just wanted to stay! How fabulous that you know where I lived! I loved it there-the street markets on fridays, the long walks to my school, getting to know everyone and having people actually think I was Greek and who understood my Greek! I am fair with blue eyes too! I just felt really smart and capable when I was there and worked really hard and then had so much too-the perfect mix! I hope you get back to Milan(my best girlfriend has lived there since collage)-I hope I can go back and not just cry!
take care,
merle
