Girls Flying! Caught on Film!
People can fly! And, they don't need wings to do it! I was surprised to catch these photos with my little manual 35mm Pentax camera-I only got one shot and then I had to wind the film myself before the next shot. I love the look of joy on my friends faces. At first I thought it was only something my younger friend could have, but then I see the look of freedom and fun on my friend's face who is my age and I realize this magic and whimsy is for everyone. Go out and get some for yourself! It's free!

Etsy :: Treasury List-Purples and Greens-Gorgeous!
"Pensive Violet"
OK, So I am excited as my painting "Pensive Violet" made an Etsy Treasury put together by Etsy member Solvejg. I love the greens and purples together! What a wonderful combo! My art hasn't been flowing so easily(still!) and this is such a nice thing to see-it reminds me that I have done things and recently-got to keep on going! Thank you Solvejg for featuring Pensive Violet. I know she feels oh so pretty in her butterfly dress-she is not wall flower and now she is out for more folks so yay!
http://www.solvejg.etsy.com is Solvejg's shop and oh my, what gorgeous beaded pieces you can find there-I am in awe so check it out!

I finally made a Treasury! Wicked Cool!
I was so excited to receive an email from mermaidencreataions from Etsy with a message to check out the Treasury she had created. So, I checked it out and she had written this, "I saw WICKED the for the third time last night, and my head is full of it still!
So, if you care to find me
Look to the Western sky!
As someone told me lately
Everyone deserves the chance to fly!"
She is referring the the musical "Wicked" which I haven't seen, but my twin sister Jer has. She loves to play the CD from it and dance and sing with her 2 little boys. I read the book many years ago and have loved the other books Gregory MacQuire has written since.
Anyway, it was a thrill to see my painting of "Elphaba", the Wicked Witch of the West, in the Treasury, so thank you so much mermaidencreations!
And, check out her shop! It is full of magical and wonderful creations!

Neko Case and Katinka Pinka!
I finally got the new Neko Case album "Middle Cyclone" and I so love it! I have been a long time fan of Neko Case ever since a boss of mine took me to one of her concerts several years ago with this pull,"You have to see her! She sings these mysterious songs about murder and she looks like you with her wild red hair! Let's go!". The audience was small so we could stand right in front. I was blown away by her voice and her presence and whoah-what a compliment my friend had given me! Since then I have been hooked.
I also love this photo on the inside so very much! Look at her fab peacock feather headpiece! Katinka Pinka-I am thinking of you and your new headpieces! OOH LA LA INDEED! Everyone check out Katinka Pinka's Etsy Shop-you will find fabulous headpieces, amazing sparkling jewelry, fantastic handmade skirts of the coolest fabrics ever, and plenty of surprises that will make you squeal with delight. Katinka Pinka also works her family's farm on the weekends and bakes her own bread along with many other delightful talents all while looking fantastic wearing high lace up boots, one of her handmade "redone" slip dresses and a pretty bow or feather in her hair-Classy indeed! When I grow up, I want to be just like her! She even lives in a swanky old pink house with antique chandeliers and such-so jealous...

Thanks Jillian!
Thank you so much Jillian of Bohimiart http://bohemiart.typepad.com/bohemiart/ for this amazing award! I met Jillian about 2 years ago and she was there for me when I was having a really hard time and she is still there! I love her art(it is dark, magical and we both are in love with Johnny Depp-he's mine!). I love her art and I appreciate her friendship and how she "gets me"-that is huge. Here is what went with it:
This award I received is accompanied by the following words: "This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award."'
I hate to try and choose blogs! I will do my best to chose though and here are some. So many inspire me and I am thankful for the friendships I have found as well!

Congrats Firuzan!
I was so excited to see my dear friend Firuzan Goker's dolls in the Feb/Mar/Apr. 2009 issue of "Art Doll Quarterly" Magazine. Firuzan's Dolls are made of paper mache and she also makes amazing paper mache jewelry. Firuzan lives in Istanbul, Turkey and we became friends through Flickr and sharing photographs of our art and then letters and packages and it has grown from there. I am honoured to call her "Sister". She also has two lovely and amazing daughters.
Her art is just beyond words as is her jewelry. I love her Frida doll and her Doll "Honeycomb"(named after her daughter Petek which means Honeycomb in Turkish). I also love the little doll with red hair and blue eyes-she seems familiar-huh...
Someday I hope to visit Firuzan and her daughters in her magical Angel Garden by the sea where her studio is-sounds like magic! Just like Firuzan!
Firuzan now has an Etsy shop for her jewelry at http://www.firuzangoker.etsy.com
